BOCA PAILA
Do you enjoy the pleasure of a virgin beach? Have you
heard of “fly fishing” and would you like to experience
it? Boca Paila lagoon is perfect for those looking for
contact with nature in all its splendor. This paradise
is also inside the Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve, and it
can be reached by a narrow coastal road. It is located
on a strip of land between the Caribbean Sea and Muyil
Lagoon.

But, what is fly fishing? It is also known as sport
fishing and is based on “catch and release”; in other
words as soon as the fish is caught, it is immediately
released and returns to the world where it belongs. This
location is famous because you have the opportunity to
fish for species such as Macabí, Palometa, Sábalo,
Róbalo, Cojinudas and Barracuda. Some of the best months
for practicing this kind of fishing are from March to
August and from November to March. Anyway, during the
whole year you will always find some marvellous species
in the Sian Ka’an lagoons (San Miguel, Boca Paila y
Caapechen).
